Arbitration and Litigation
During the past few years, FMH has handled the most number of construction arbitration/litigation cases among the law firms in the country. Its arbitration and litigation practice covers practically all kinds of commercial transaction cases. The Firm’s practice in this field is spearheaded by Jesusito G. Morallos.
Immigration
The firm’s immigration practice is headed by Virgilio D.C. Herce. Owing to the commendable performance of the Firm on immigration matters, it has been appointed as the Philippine representative of a number of international immigration firms for their clients requiring immigration services in the Philippines.
Intellectual Property
FMH assists clients in filing and prosecuting, trademark, copyright, and patent registrations with the Intellectual Property Office of thePhilippines. The Firm has registered patent attorneys who are also members of the Intellectual Property Association of thePhilippines. This practice area is jointly headed by Virgilio D.C. Herce and Jesusito G. Morallos.
Tax and Labor
FMH is able to provide comprehensive advice to its clients from basic tax registration and compliance requirements to complex tax structuring/planning for transactions and investments. The Firm is also well respected for its work in tax assessment and tax refund cases.
The labor law practice of the Firm is extensive. It covers Human Resources (HR) consultancy work, compensation and benefits package, planning and review, drafting of employment-related contracts, preparation of HR policies and manuals, review of company rules and regulations and labor law manuals, and handling of a wide range of labor cases. The Firm’s practice in this area is spearheaded by Rachel P. Follosco.
Data Privacy
Since 2012 when the Data Privacy Act (“DPA”) was passed into law, the Firm has been addressing data privacy-related queries of its clients. With the issuance of the implementing rules and regulations of the DPA and the actual creation of the National Privacy Commission in 2016, concrete compliance requirements have since been prescribed and data privacy practice has gained momentum. The FMH Data Privacy Team has ongoing consultancy engagements with companies in different industries, ensuring their compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Hands-on experience in various settings compliments the strong theoretical competence of the FMH Data Privacy Team.
